McHenry chiropractic spinal manipulation care is relieving and cost reducing.

SPINAL MANIPULATION IS EFFECTIVE AND COST REDUCING FOR SPINE CARE

OrthoIllinois Chiropractic welcomes all spine pain patients! Spine pain is disconcerting for its sufferers. McHenry chiropractic spinal manipulation helps. Though low back pain is a major cause of disability globally, its sufferers who have persistent or recurrent episodes of low back pain find chiropractic maintenance care worthwhile as it is patient-centered care. (1) Neck pain sufferers, too, discover relief with chiropractic. Neck pain patients who undergo spinal manipulation – 90% of which is delivered by chiropractors in the US – had lowered risk by 2.38 times to need higher level and more expensive care like imaging, injection, emergency room or surgery (just 26%) than patients who were treated with other type of care (46%). (2) A recent study of Medicare patient claims reveals that patients who had reduced access to chiropractic care had an increase in visits (32.3 a year) to primary care physicians for spine pain and a rise in spine surgeries (5.5 a year) costing an extra $114,967 per 1000 Medicare beneficiaries and $391 million nationally. (3) Your McHenry chiropractor is well-qualified in delivering spinal manipulation.  Spinal manipulation is and has been recommended as first-line treatment for low back pain. Reviews of Medicare claims note that chiropractors are the majority of healthcare providers for spinal manipulation and that the overall supply of spinal manipulation providers is dropping. (4) Don’t worry! Your hometown, McHenry chiropractor does not intend to stop providing pain-relieving spinal manipulation, especially the gentle, research-backed Cox® Technic style of spinal manipulation.

Listen to this PODCAST with Dr. Kurt Olding on The Back Doctors Podcast with Dr. Michael Johnson as he presents research on the place of spinal manipulation in the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management for the relief of spinal stenosis, a common spine pain condition in the over-65 age group.

OrthoIllinois Chiropractic presents new research on the benefit of adequate B vitamin levels.

McHenry CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH:

Beneficial B Vitamins

B vitamins are beneficial. B12 deficiency is commonly associated with dementia in patients 65 years old and over. It has also been found in younger people who have normal B12 levels but their methylmalonic acid (MMA) level is high. Checking the MMA level may be considered in patients with symptoms that seem unconnected as in one patient with neuropathy, depression and stomach issues who was found to have a high MMA. (5) Biotin (B7) supplementation is showing potential in the treatment of neuropathic pain and could reduce the required doses of analgesic drugs. (6) Riboflavin (B2) in foods and via supplements is known for its antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects among others. A new study reported that B2 offers anti-itch properties. (7) How are your B levels? We’ll talk at your next visit!
